Joseph Dwight Cochran grew up in Union Furnace Ohio. He came to Columbus in 1921 after the death of his mother. Resided with Charles and Elizabeth Whipple, his sister and her husband, at 1164 Westwood Avenue. Married to Grace D. MURNANE (Dode) in 1935. He worked for the Chesapeake & Ohio (C&O) Railroad for 43 years. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Blue Lodge and received his 50 year pin. He was a 32nd degree mason. He loved to fish, hunt, pitch horseshoes and play cards - especially Euchre. He and Dorothy had their home built in 1938, at 1323 West 2nd Avenue, Columbus Ohio. He loved his home and family. He was baptized in the Methodist Churh and married in the Methodist Church. He was 5'8" tall and had sandy colored hair that grayed at about age 35. (as told by Joanne E. COCHRAN) |
