James Jr. Bartron From Kuki's records: According to Kuki's records: James Jr may have been born in Lioza County, NY. When James m'd Henrietta, he was living in Williamsport. James & Henrietta spent the early part of their lives in Maryland and Waverly, NY. They came to Wilton, ND in the early 1880s, where Henrietta joined the Presbyterian church. James was the first Bartron in McLean County. He was an elder of a Presbyterian congregation whiich was formed at Old Coal Harbor 1885. He was also chairman of the board of McClean County Commissioners in 1886. He was one of the early settlers on Snake Creek. May have had a distant cousin, Eugene Glover, who he corresponded with in 1916. Rosanna died & before he married Henrietta. Was in Quartermaster Corps & at second battle of Bull Run. According to Frank Rosin, 1/17/91, James had a son, Coston, from the first marriage. James belonged to the 146th Pennsylvania Regiment. --recorded by Brian Warner |
